MOLAS

The term Mola comes from the Kuna Indian language meaning "blouse". The Kuna Indians, who inhabit many islands off the coast of Panama, use these mola fabric panels as a means to embellish blouses that the Kuna indian women wear. This cultural art form is appreciated for its beauty and has become a popular market for tourists. Here are some photos of students working on their own mola designs using art paper.
